Hello! I am Alexander Garoutte. Welcome to Blessed Imagination, a daily meditation podcast meant to help you develop a stronger relationship with God through the gift of your imagination.
Though I currently reside in central New York State preparing to head back to school to be a mental health counselor, my most recent ministerial experience was as a campus minister at Santa Clara University (SCU). There, I coordinated a program called Christian Life Community that formed faith-sharing small groups for all Christian students. These groups were guided by the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola (if you don’t know who that is yet, that’s ok — we’ll get there!). In my role at SCU, I accompanied students as they navigated the challenging realities of young adulthood and discovering who they wanted to become.
My experience in ministry and my interest in mental health counseling come from a single root — a desire to help each person see their own worth and belovedness.
